Committees

The women's health council has five sub committees, which deal with

• Finance
• Research
• Policy / legislation
• Health service delivery
• Personal & community development

Finance Sub Committee
Chair: Pat Doorley
The principal objectives of the Finance Sub Committee are to assist in assuring the sound financial status of the council.

Research Sub Committee
Chair: Helen Whelton
The main objective of the Research Sub Committee is to oversee the development and implementation of the research programme of the Women's Health Council.

Policy and Legislation Sub Committee
Chair: Rita Burtenshaw
The principal objective of the Policy and Legislation Sub Committee is to review legislation relevant to women and to oversee the development and implementation of the objectives of the current strategic plan relevant to policy and legislation.

Health Service Delivery Sub Committee
Chair: Claire McNicholas
The main objective of the Health Service Delivery Sub Committee is to influence the development of effective health service for women in the context of the Women's Health Council's Statutory Instrument and its work programme. Health Service Delivery includes acute hospitals, primary care and special needs.

Personal and Community Development Sub Committee
Chair: Catherine Murphy
The main objective of this Sub Committee is to ensure that the policies and work of the WHC are informed by the experience and views of the personal and community development sector in the context of the Council's Statutory Instrument and its work programme.
